2012 is the 350th Anniversary of the publication of the Book of Common Prayer. It was compiled in the sixteenth century by Thomas Cranmer and modified in 1662. Deeply rooted in the Bible, many words and phrases from the Book of Common Prayer have entered popular culture and become a familiar part of our speech. Other traditional non-conformist prayer books have borrowed from it.
In this Olympic Year of 2012 remember
Baron Pierre de Coubertin (Modern Olympics founder) said “The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win, but to take part. Just as the most important thing in life, is not the triumph, but the struggle.”
